CWS Door-to-Door for Toa Payoh Abuse Cases, 2 October 2024

CWS received multiple reports on four community cats found in two clusters in Toa Payoh with deep cuts on their bodies. We worked closely with caregivers to establish timelines first and assisted with the filing of reports with AVS.

CWS quickly organised and ran a door-to-door appeal for information at 10 blocks in Toa Payoh on 2 October 2024. This exercise is important to run quickly to obtain any information that would be useful to the investigations that are meant to be conducted by AVS. They are also important to increase the overall level of awareness and vigilance about the case. We work closely with the Town Council on putting up posters and the community in helping us spread the word. We are also glad to have the support of volunteers for this.

Earlier in the year, in March 2024, we organised a door-to-door in woodlands East where more than 10 pet cats were found abandoned around Blk 780E Woodlands Crescent. The cats were microchipped but unfortunately the authorities have not been able to locate the person to whom the cats are registered.

We hope to achieve more success in our work in Toa Payoh.
