CWS restarted its door-to-door work with our first engagement of 2025 conducted at rental blocks in Marsiling. These d2d engagements help raise awareness about responsible cat ownership and allow us to identify potential cat-related issues such as cat hoarding, negligence and abuse so that we can step in early to help and manage them before the problem spirals out of control.
Through these d2d engagements, we are able to help cat owners facing financial difficulties to:
a) sterilise their unsterilised pet cats by signing up for CWS’ Pet Cat Sterilisation Programme to sterilise; and
b) microchip their pet cats through CWS’ Pet Cat Microchipping Assistance.
Since the start of the pet cat licensing scheme from September 2024, CWS has been carrying out monthly d2d engagements at rental blocks around Singapore such as in Clementi, MacPherson and Yishun to raise awareness about the AVS Cat Management Framework and the need for households to license their pet cats during the transition period and before end-August 2026. Licensing pet cats help raise the accountability of pet cat owners and reduce abandonment.
CWS will continue carrying out monthly d2d engagements as part of our efforts to raise the standard of cat welfare in Singapore. Stay tuned for more updates on our future d2d engagements at estates around Singapore and for our call for volunteers if you are interested to help us.
