Monkey / monkeh (if he is doing something stupid) is an approx. 1.5 year old male cat who has a remarkable carbohydrate addiction. He was rescued from an industrial construction site as a kitten but was the least friendly of his siblings until I discovered the secret key – bread. He loves bread more than anything else in this world. He will stare at you with eager anticipation and hope if you eat any type of bread and will be sooo happy for a morsel. So he and I made a deal – he would get tiny morsels of bread if he let me touch him. It worked and now he lets me touch him and will even roll around to get butt scritches.
He has a trilling meow (like a bird-cat which also plays into this bread theory) and will sing songs when you scritch his bum. He seems to prefer men to women. I could only touch him after some bribery but I had some potential adopters who were male at the house for a viewing and he was rolling around them. He’s very subservient to alpha cats but will try to be a bit bossy around younger cats although he eventually just wants to play with them.
The following guidelines must be strictly followed:
- Cat must be kept strictly indoors, meaning all your windows and gate must be secured with mesh.
- Primary adopter should be financially stable, and every member of the household should be agreeable to the adoption.
