Guidelines to posting a CWS Special Appeals

Please note that the Special Appeals is strictly for community cats and not for pets.

Please email specialappeals@catwelfare.org with the information below:

1. A short write-up on the situation (including where the cat was found, its condition, etc.)
2. The name and location of the veterinary clinic where the cat(s) is receiving medical treatment (if applicable)
3. The diagnosis and treatment given to the cat
3. Up to 3 photos/scans (JPEG only) of the cat / situation / bills / invoices
4. The kind of help you need (eg. financial, fostering etc) including appeal amount required

URGENT: Seeking Donations for Community Cat with Cartilage Tumour

Mimi is a well-loved 10-year-old community cat who was found one day at the bus stop by her caregivers, unable to eat and drink. This persisted over a week, during which her caregivers spotted a big tumour on Mimi's belly.

This community cat named Ray was rescued from a nursery by a caregiver, who noticed that he was scrawny and sickly, and suffering from a severe cough.

Ray was brought to the vet for treatment, and had to seek two opinions and an x-ray before the final diagnosis confirmed that he was suffering from pneumonia.

This community cat named Whitey was spotted by her caregiver to be drooling with pus and blood.

Whitey was rushed to the vet where she was diagnosed with severe tooth decay and gum infection. She had to undergo dental treatment and was subsequently hospitalised.

This community cat named Ryan was found by his caregiver with a very deep gash in his neck, and is suspected to be a victim of possible abuse. 

Ryan was rushed to the vet for treatment. Due to the severity of his wound, he needed two rounds of stitching to close up the gash in order for healing to begin.

Black Black was a sweet and friendly community cat in Tampines who was unfortunately mauled by 6 stray dogs one morning.

Xiao Hui is very timid community cat living in Marsiling. One day, he was found by his caregiver with a limp on his right leg, which was very swollen.

The caregiver observed Xiao Hui's condition over three days and because it was not improving at all, she took him to the vet for treatment.

Karuppa's injury (before treatment

Karuppa, a well loved community cat, was found by his caregiver on 16 April 2012 with a deep cut on his forehead.

Karuppa was rushed to the vet, where the surrounding area of the wound - covered with matted fur - was shaved off, and his wound flushed, cleaned and dressed.

Le Le 1st Flu

Two community kittens, An An (female) and Le Le (male) were unsterilised siblings found hiding in drains and under cars in Bukit Batok.

Shortly after they were trapped for sterilisation and returned to the colony, Le Le started showing signs of flu and lost his appetite.

Calico is a community cat housed in a cattery. When she was found to be abstaining from food as well as suffering from diarrhoea in November 2011, she was sent to the vet where blood tests showed that her white blood count was very high.
