URGENT: Seeking Donations for Silver, the Community Cat Suffering from Jaundice & Dehydration

Silver is a shy community cat that has been fed by her caregivers for the last 6 years. She lived in the multi-storey carpark (MSCP) of the caregivers' estate and is estimated to be between 6 to 8 years old.
On 8 Jan 2011, Silver did not come for her dinner but was found hiding in the drain instead. She refused to emerge despite her caregivers' calls. Thinking that she might be frightened by the new aggressive cat, the caregivers left her alone. However, Silver continued to behave in this manner for the whole week and worrying that something might be wrong with her, the caregivers lifted the drain cover and got her into a carrier.
Silver was sent to Joyous Vet on 14 Jan 2011, where she was found to be suffering from jaundice throughout and was terribly dehydrated (she had not eaten or drunk since 8 Jan 2011). She was put on intravenous drip and a blood test was conducted. The blood test results showed that her red blood count was only one-third of the normal range and her white blood cell was much higher than the normal range. The vet believed that Silver's liver might be affected and treated her with steriod and antibiotics.

As Silver had not eaten for a week, the clinic started to force feed her. However, after a week of force feeding Silver started to show signs of resistance and started to vomit almost every time she was fed. In order to ensure that she had enough food and that medicine can be properly administered, a feeding tube on inserted through her throat on 21 Jan 2011.
Apart from the medicines available in the clinic, a prescription was also given by the vet for us to purchase "Cyclosporin" from Singapore General Hospital. This drug was to help Silver to boost her immune system as it had gone hay-wire which was damaging her red blood cell and liver. Further, blood test was conducted every few days to check the level of her red and white blood cell.
Despite all the efforts to save her, Silver did not make it and passed away on the morning of 9 Feb 2011. Her vet bills came up to SGD1,068.46.

We are urgently appealing for donations to help defray the cost incurred for Silver. The amount required stands at SGD 1,000.
