URGENT: Seeking Donations for Mass Sterilisation Exercise at Choa Chu Kang & Jurong West
This appeal is made on behalf of a caregiver who did a mass sterilisation exercise at the area around Blk 631 to 640, Choa Chu Kang and Jurong West St 71 to 81.
A total of about 60 cats were sterilised by the caregiver, from which about 42 cats were from Choa Chu Kang in November 2010. The caregiver managed to get about 30 free slots from Cat Welfare Society (CWS) during Spay Day, which helped in easing the financial burden. However, she had to cover the cost for the remaining cats.
The final bill was SGD 1,515, including sterilisation, trapping, transport, boarding and sterilisaton costs, after deducting CWS's free slots.
Choa Chu Kang is an area under scrutiny by the Town Council and the caregiver had gone in to offer her help to property managers at the abovementioned blocks; previously the cats in the area were not sterilised. To date, she has managed to have most of the cats - with the exception of 4 or 5 remaining ones - neutered.
The area around Jurong west St 71 to 81 is under Hong Kah Town Council's scrutiny. The caregiver had sterilised most of the cats there.
We are urgently appealing for donations to help defray the cost incurred for these community cats (sterilisation costs and affiliated costs such as trapping, transport and boarding post-operation). The amount required stands at SGD 1,515.
