Jan 2015 – Volunteers led TNRM Programme

Six volunteers came together and led a TNRM project (Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage) in the Central Part of Singapore. Sterilisation has contributed to the lowest culling rate in the history of Singapore. However, the key challenge we continue to face is irresponsible pet owners who selfishly dump their cats… Under the Animals and Birds Act, anyone who is found guilty of pet abandonment can be imprisoned for up to 12 months, fined up to $10,000, or both.

What can you do to help? Contact the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority 1800 476 1600 as a witness to report the person. Pet abandonment is another form of abuse, should you know any relatives, friends or neighbors are planning to abandon their cat(s), we urge you to advice them to re-consider and make real effort to re-home them instead. Please help the cats as they truly deserved better.
