URGENT: [SA16083] Seeking Donations for Community Cat with Pneumonia and Kidney Failure
Tux was a cat rescued from central Singapore and relocated to north-eastern Singapore. His vocal cords were found to be permanently damaged probably from drinking car oil at his original location. He was also diagnosed positive for FIV and kidney failure.
Tux reached the final stage of kidney failure recently. It was accompanied with pneumonia from a weakened immune system. He was sent to the vet and had to be boarded for his poor condition. As there was no improvement, he was sent to another vet for a second opinion.
In addition to the treatment for pneumonia, Tux was also administered medication to help with his kidney failure. In the final stages of his life, he was also placed in an oxygen tank as he was having difficulties breathing due to a collapsed lung. Tux passed away in April 2016.
The total cost incurred for Tux’s treatment exceeded SGD 1300.00.
The caregiver is appealing for donations to help defray the cost incurred for Tux, with the maximum appeal amount at SGD750.00.
